Neuropsychological Evaluation
A thorough, evidence-based assessment that identifies learning, attention, and developmental differences — so families and schools can act with a clear, shared picture of how a child thinks and learns.
What is a neuropsychological evaluation?
A neuropsychological evaluation is a careful, multi-day look at how your child thinks, learns, pays attention, and regulates emotion. We use standardized tests, structured observation, and conversations with parents and teachers to build a picture that no single classroom or doctor’s appointment can capture.
Our evaluations are diagnostic when needed — for ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum, anxiety, and other conditions — and always practical. The written report tells parents and educators specifically what helps this child, and what gets in the way.
What to expect
- 01
Intake call
A call with the lead psychologist to talk through your concerns and decide together whether an evaluation is the right next step.
- 02
Assessment sessions
Two or three in-person sessions of 3–4 hours each in our Warren office. Most kids find it engaging — many say it feels like a long set of puzzles.
- 03
Feedback session
Once scoring and integration are complete, we sit down (in person or via video) and walk through findings, diagnoses, and the plan — with time for every parent question.
- 04
Written report
A formal written report you can hand to your child’s school, pediatrician, or insurance company. We help you read it, and follow up with the school if you need us to.
Who this helps
- · A child who is bright but struggling in school in ways no one can quite explain
- · A child whose teachers keep using the words "attention", "focus", or "behavior"
- · A child preparing for a school transition where the right placement matters
- · A family with an outside diagnosis they want a second opinion on
- · A teen processing why earlier learning was hard, and what that means now

Don’t see your question? Reach out — we reply within one business day.
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider for most plans. We supply the documentation needed to request reimbursement, and our intake team is happy to walk you through what to expect.
How is this different from school testing?
School evaluations focus on whether a child qualifies for special-education services. A neuropsychological evaluation is broader — it looks at the whole child and is designed to inform diagnosis, treatment, and parenting decisions, not only school eligibility.
Will my child be diagnosed?
Only if the data clearly supports a diagnosis. We never diagnose to fit a parent’s or school’s expectation. Many evaluations end with a clear "no, but here is what to work on" — and that is a useful answer too.
Can the evaluation be done virtually?
No. The structured tasks we use are validated for in-person administration. Telehealth works well for therapy and IEP coaching, but not the full neuropsych battery.
